Transforming Lives
As an act of humanity, each and every human being is entitled to quality education, clothing, healthcare, decent shelter and food as all of these encompasses human life. Maisha Bora’s humanitarian activities extends further to providing the above mentioned needs to bright and needy secondary school, college and university scholars. As Kenya’s population escalates higher, brilliant and needy students’ toll equally rises, and as Maisha Bora’s key primary philosophy having been to educate, sponsor and eventually transform the lives of these students. That’s why Maisha Bora charitable organization calls upon your direct or indirect participation into making the dreams of these students to come true.
Our Story
The name Maisha Bora is derived from a Swahili phrase – (Kiswahili language) whose speakers are largely found in East Africa mostly in Tanzania and Kenya meaning Quality Life. We believe in providing quality lives to the less fortunate brilliant students and that is why we have been supporting young Kenyans to gain an education and a job since 2005. Maisha Bora was founded in 2005 by Becky Dalton and Hannah Mwaura. It has grown from supporting one student at the secondary level to providing scholarships and employability support to 30 students per year. Maisha Bora has not only supported the academic circles but also has improved many lives in young Kenyans whose backgrounds have been embraced with hard economic situations. Maisha Bora’s employability networks have actually transformed many young people’s livelihoods across Kenya and Beyond.
